Wound Care Senior Staff Nurse

Positions and Duties
Assess patients’ skin/tissue viability, vascular health, wound etiology, measurement, pain, nutritional and psychosocial aspects, pressure injury risk, and ostomy and continence-related issues on their own.
Recognize wound complications include necrosis, infection, ischemia, and unusual or worsening wounds, and escalate them as soon as necessary.
Provide advanced wound care measures, such as cleaning the wound, choosing and applying a dressing, supporting compression therapy, managing exudate, preventing pressure injuries.
Perform conservative sharp wound debridement while adhering to credentialing criteria and the permitted scope of practice.
Provide clinical advice and wound care resources, including case reviews and referral pathway guidelines, to internal nursing teams and external community/healthcare partners.
Participate in the creation and evaluation of new wound care technology, service improvement projects, and clinical standards.
As a trainer or facilitator in wound care education programs, offer nursing personnel bedside coaching, mentoring, and competency training.
Participate in research and evidence-based practice projects, quality improvement programs, and clinical audits.
Keep up-to-date clinical records, service logs, and result reports; assist with inventory control and organize training initiatives.
Requirements for the Position
A registered nurse having a current SNB registration and a certificate of practice
Preferably, an advanced diploma or certification in wound care, ostomy, and continence nursing
Five years or more of post-registration nursing experience, with a focus on wound care
Strong clinical judgment and self-sufficiency
Strong interpersonal, coaching, and communication abilities
Willingness to offer on-site advice for all types of care
